Lalalinen was fondly named after founder Katherine’s mother, known affectionately as “Lala.” 

The personalized and intimate nature of embroidery evokes a sense of warmth and comfort — a few of Lala’s most dominant traits. Known as a gracious and welcoming host, Lala’s favorite bird is a hummingbird, a species that symbolizes joy, beauty, and good luck — all attributes that Lalalinen strives to live up to.

Lalalinen was created as a home for self-expression, just as the art of embroidery was for founder Katherine. It is a place where no project is too big or too small, where no idea is too outlandish to explore. We love to encourage creativity, after all, that is what embroidery is all about.
